The virtual online game SmallWorlds allows you to create your own avatars, purchase items, decorate your own room and create missions for your friends and others. With your online friends, you can share photos, play online games, listen to music and more. However, if you are looking to earn experience (XP) points and tokens to expand your virtual world, you can accept missions or create your own. To create a good mission, you will need to make the tasks interesting, creative and fun for all ages.
Instructions
1. Create a mission that is easy to understand and interesting at the same time. People who have trouble completing your missions will become frustrated and discouraged. Common mistakes that mission creators make are creating confusing instructions, failing to make essential links and objects clickable, and failing to make sure that players can enter and exit through doors. To avoid these mistakes, double check your instructions for confusing or misspelled words and phrases, check the objects and links to make sure they are working and ensure that your avatar can enter each door.
2. Set your mission for the main purpose of having fun and not to exploit other players. Not only can using cheats and conducting exploits ban you from playing SmallWorlds, but once your account has been reinstated, you will no longer be able to create new missions.
3. Implement creative tasks to complete the mission. Take the time to plan a creative hook where an avatar must perform a certain action or say a phrase to complete the task. Other types of creative hook includes using an item on oneself or others and using the interactions feature of the game to interact with other characters and items.
4. Make your mission appealing to a wider audience by making it age-appropriate and non-offensive to players. Avoid using language and content that is offensive. For example, phrases that avatars must say to pass the mission should be clean and contain non-vulgar words and abbreviations (OMG, LOL, etc). In addition to language and content, create a room that is pleasing to the players and that gives them the freedom to move around and explore.
