Become An Exhibitor At A Craft Show

If you are talented in making any type of craft, such as woodworking, quilting or needle-working, you can make some extra money by becoming an exhibitor at a craft show. Craft shows regularly exhibit all over the country. Set up at any craft show you'd like if you do not mind traveling a little distance or if you want to just set up your wares locally; however, you must follow a few protocols before setting up, which are basically the same for each show with only minor variations in the application process.

Instructions

1. Research craft shows in your local area. Find these by searching online, your local newspaper, the library or Chamber of Commerce. Check your calendar to make sure you are available on these dates before proceeding.

2. Fill out any requested applications to set up as a vendor at the craft show. State exactly what type of crafts you have to offer in some detail as many craft shows like to have limited numbers of certain crafts. Most organizers of craft shows, for example, do not want to have 50 percent of their tables filled with quilts only, but instead want to offer a variety of crafts for visitors.

3. Send in the application well before the due dates as many craft shows fill up quickly and are first come, first served.

4. Write out a check for any necessary fees immediately upon being accepted as a vendor. Not sending in your fee in a timely manner will most likely cancel your spot at the show.

5. Call or send an email if you have any questions about the show, such as if tables are provided, how big the spaces are or what time you can get into the building to set up your space, if these questions are not answered in your information packet.

6. Arrive at the appointed time to set up and prepare your space for visitors. Not arriving on time could hinder your ability to make as much money as possible or cause you not to be invited back.

7. Clean up your space at the end of the craft show.
