Mass Effect 2" lets players use the same characters and situations from the original "Mass Effect" games in the sequel. The option, available in the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, allows players to connect their character when starting a new game. The process differs for the two version of the game, as the Xbox 360 will automatically access the save game files from the console's hard drive and a utility must be used for PC.
Instructions
Xbox 360 Directions
1. Select the option to start a new game from the main menu.
2. Choose to connect your "Mass Effect" character to this game.
3. Start your game as your former character.
PC Directions
4. Start the game's launcher. Click on the Configuration Utility.
5. Select "Save Games." Click on the "Copy Mass Effect 1 Save Games" option.
6. Select the folder with your "Mass Effect" save games. Open the game.
7. Start a new game from the main menu. Choose to "Import ME1 Character."
