The fifth act in Metal Gear Solid 4 is the last stage of the game. Your character, Solid Snake, finds himself on the bow of the Outer Haven ship, the final boss monsters within. Beating this act is a complex stage of taking out numerous FROG soldiers (depending on your difficulty level) and the two final bosses. Some of the parts, like the bosses, are very similar to others from the original "Metal Gear Solid" game.
Instructions
Ship's Bow
1. Run to the right when you start on the ship's bow, and take the scoped weapon when you reach the wall. Shoot all the FROGs that jump from the roof; head forward until you round the big crate.
2. Pass the explosive barrels and ladder and start crawling on the ground, making sure your character's octocamo changes to give you the most protection. Shoot all the FROGs that appear, run forward and wall press toward the big barrel on the right.
3. Begin crawling once you get past the barrel, and take out one of your scoped weapons; use it to take out the FROGs at the end of the corridor.
4. Run to the end of the corridor and take out the sniper at the top of the large tower. Wait for the USS Missouri to take out the Gekko guarding the door. Go through the door when the other Gekko appears, and enter the elevator.
Command Center/Screaming Mantis
5. Kill or tranquilize all the FROGS in the command center --- including the snipers on the balcony --- using your 200-round machine gun or P90. Use the walls and computers for cover.
6. Inject yourself with the syringe when Screaming Mantis appears, then use a CQC chokehold on your partner Meryl and inject her. This will make you immune to Mantis's mind control
7. Aim for the Mantis doll in Screaming Mantis's hand and look for her to drop it after four or five shots. Run over and grab the doll; roll away from Mantis to dodge the swinging move.
8. Shoot Screaming Mantis with the Mantis doll and then shake the SIXAXIS to defeat her, changing her into her Screaming Beauty form.
9. Grab the second Mantis doll in the doorway you came in from and shoot Screaming Beauty with this doll to beat her. Walk backward as you shoot her while she approaches.
Missile Hangar
10. Run through the hallway in the missile hangar and use a chaff grenade to try to hold back the Scarabs. Roll forward if any of the Scarabs get to you.
11. Run through the hall of microwaves; eventually, the microwaves will force you to start crawling. Press the "Triangle" button whenever the screen says so in order to keep Snake's energy going.
12. Watch the long cutscene once you enter the computer room before the final battle with Liquid Ocelot.
Liquid Ocelot Battle
13. Trap Ocelot in a corner in his first form, hold down the "L1" button and press "R1" for a strong punch. You can repeatedly hit him and beat his first form while taking little to no hits.
14. Attack the second form with the CQC hold or with the dash attack --- press the "X" button and then "R1." It's best to attack after dodging his strong punches.
15. Fight the third form with CQC attacks or a flurry of straight-up punches. If he grabs you in a choke hold, wiggle the controller's left stick back and forth to escape, and hit the "Triangle" button when prompted to strike him.
16. Rush up to Ocelot and hit "R1" once the third fight is over to finish him off and finish the game.
