Hotels At The Airport In San Jose California

The Norman Y. Mineta International Airport is in northern San Jose, California, and serves Greater San Jose and the Silicon Valley area. According to the airport's website, this international airport offers flights to Guadalajara, New York City and Honolulu. Hotel accommodations are within 10 minutes of the airport, and many of them offer complimentary shuttle transportation. These hotels are less than 20 minutes from downtown San Jose.


Vagabond Inn


The moderately priced Vagabond Inn is a five-minute drive to San Jose International Airport. Hotel features include an outdoor swimming pool and an on-site Denny's restaurant with menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is open 24 hours. Some of the guest rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. Discounts of up to 10 percent are provided for former and current military personnel and members of AAA and AARP as of fall 2010.


This hotel is a short walk from the St. James light rail station, which makes a trip to downtown San Jose only 15 minutes. Popular downtown attractions include the San Jose Repertory Theater, Children's Discovery Museum and the San Jose Arena, home of the San Jose Sharks hockey team. Off-site restaurants are a short walk from the hotel, which includes Menara, a Moroccan-themed restaurant, and Vito's New York Trattoria, which serves Italian cuisine.


Doubletree Hotel San Jose


The Doubletree Hotel is a five-minute complimentary shuttle ride from the airport, and offers discounted rates for airport parking. The hotel also offers "Park and Fly" packages, which includes a one-night stay and up to seven days of free parking while you are on your trip. According to the San Jose Mercury News, this luxury hotel features two large ballrooms that accommodate up to 1,200 people for banquets and seminars. Other hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool tub, fitness center and a fine dining establishment, Spencers, which offers steak entrees for lunch and dinner.


The hotel is right off the Bayshore Freeway, which makes a trip to the Winchester Mystery House only 10 minutes long. This eclectic, Victorian-style hotel was built in the early 20th century as a house filled with odd features, which include a staircase that leads to walls, and is reputed to be haunted by Native American ghosts. All of the original furniture and interior d cor has been kept intact in this house. The hotel is a short walk from nearby restaurants off the Airport Parkway, such as Gateway Cafe, which serves sandwiches.


Radisson Hotel San Jose Airport


Situated in northern San Jose, the Radisson is less than 10 minutes from the hotel, and complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the airport throughout the day. Other hotel features include a 24-hour fitness center and the Ixzibit Cafe, which has contemporary-style d cor in the dining room. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a full-service bar is available. The room rate for a business class guest room includes a free breakfast from the restaurant or room service.


The hotel is right off the Nimitz Freeway, which offers quick access to nearby Bay Area cities, such as Fremont and Oakland. Night owls will want to make a trip to downtown San Jose's SoFa District. This district is on South First Street, about 15 minutes from the hotel, and includes art galleries, nightclubs and trendy restaurants. Some of the more popular night spots include Elixir Ultra Lounge and Agenda. The campus of San Jose State University is within five minutes of the SoFa District, so the crowd is usually 20-somethings and lively throughout the year.
