Several website designing companies and freelance website creators offer donations of their time and services to nonprofit organizations for free. Some receive so many requests for free websites that they have to temporarily close their programs in order to fill their orders. This method of applying for a free nonprofit website is just one path of many to the same end goal: getting a website for your nonprofit up and running to increase your organization's exposure in your community.
Instructions
1. Go to the Grassroots website. This organization's mission is to provide "nonprofit organizations with free valuable technologies and resources to increase their efficiency and productivity." They work with more than 3,560 nonprofits to accomplish this mission.
2. Click on the Nonprofits tab at the top of the home page. Click on Nonprofit Tool Box from the drop-down menu. Click on "Sign up now" at the top of the next page in the first paragraph. Click on "Nonprofit Interested in Free Services" on the left side of the next page.
3. Fill out the required application information to be paired with website design volunteers or to access Grassroots' website building tool. Your organization must be a 501(c)(3) to participate. It can also be a Canadian Charitable Organization. The nonprofit must also abide by Grassroots' nondiscrimination policies, which are detailed on its website.
4. Required information includes your organization's name, a contact person and his contact details, your organization's mission, its primary area of service, the size of its budget, the number of staff and the year it was founded.
