Get A Job As A Hotel Concierge

Becoming a hotel concierge can be a rewarding experience if you enjoy helping people and getting to know the town you live in. Most concierge positions are located in larger cities, so you should be willing to move or commute to the city.

1. Study the town geography and sites surrounding the hotel you would like to be a concierge for.


2. Learn where the best restaurants, museums and family-friendly activities are located. Create a log book including pamphlets, prices and contact information for each site.


3. Become a people person. Enjoy working with both friendly and difficult people. You will be exposed to all types throughout your day.


4. Create a calender with live events and sporting events so you can recommend live entertainment to your hotel guests.


Job Search


5. Search the want ads for hotel concierge positions. Make sure your resume and cover letters are proofread and orderly. Include any experience or community service that would show you like to help others.


6. Search through the hospitality online job search websites to find hotel concierge positions in the town you like. There are several dedicated websites that have hotel positions updated daily.


7. Visit the hotels you would like to work at. Ask to meet with the manager and drop off your resume and cover letter. If you are not able to meet with them in person, send them your resume and cover letter with your case for working at their hotel.
