Finish Furniture With Wax

Furniture Wax


Applying wax finish to wood is a great way to beautify the piece and to protect it against dryness. Wax produces a smooth, satin appearance, a natural look, and a smooth feel. It's great for all kinds of wood - oak, maple, pine, mahogany, and much more. For those who want an alternative to the standard high gloss varnish or stain, here's preserve the natural look of the wood by apply finishing wax. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Remove old wax with wax and polish remover.


2. Prepare the finishing sander with extra-fine sandpaper. It is helpful if you use a sander with dust bag.


3. Sand wood until smooth and satiny.


4. Wipe wood with rags to remove all the wood dust.


5. Apply paste wax with rags or extra-fine steel wool using a circular motion.


6. Allow to dry for one half to one hour.


7. Buff with soft cotton rag.


8. For new furniture, repeat this entire process two or three times.
