Converting a piece of furniture into a bathroom vanity allows you to create a unique bathroom space. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Measure the area. Decide whether a single or double sink is appropriate for the space. Write down the minimum and maximum lengths and widths the furniture can be to fit into the space.

2. Browse antique shops and used furniture stores for inexpensive, classical pieces of furniture. Consider a new piece of furniture for a contemporary look. When shopping, bring along measurements and a measuring tape. It is critical to get the exact measurements to ensure the furniture piece will work as a vanity.

3. Purchase a sink. Measure the width and length of the sink to make sure it will fit on top of the vanity.

4. Transform the furniture into a vanity. Using a jigsaw or hand saw, cut a hole where the sink will be as well as the faucet on top of the vanity. Remove all drawers and drawer fronts, especially those that will get in the way of the plumbing fixtures. Use a hand saw to remove the excess wood. Cut an additional hole in the back of the vanity where plumbing fixtures and water lines connect.

5. Set the sink into the vanity. Add caulk around the lip of the sink to seal the gap between the sink and vanity top. Install the faucet and connect all plumbing fixtures. Replace any drawers and drawer fronts. Use caulk or adhesive to glue the drawer fronts to the vanity.
