Hang A Multipaper Lantern

Paper lanterns strung from your porch or patio will create a magical and warm glow. Hang them indoors during holiday and dinner parties to create a cozy and inviting mood. Made of paper, these delicate luminaries are an affordable accessory to any home, and can easily jazz up a screened-in porch. For an added touch, try wrapping ribbons around each side of your lantern. Use different colors for each lantern for a bright and colorful decoration. Hang them from the ceiling at birthday parties for a cheery design. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Choose an area for your paper lanterns that will protect the delicate lights from weather, while creating an inviting and warm glow at night. If the lights require an AC outlet, make sure there is one close by.

2. Measure the length it will take to run the cord up the wall and to the base of the ceiling. Allow an extra 2 to 3 feet in your measurement to ensure you have enough cord. Install one extension cord, short or long, depending upon the height of your wall and ceiling.

3. Attach the extension cord to the wall using a heavy-duty staple gun. Staple the cord every 1 to 2 inches for a secure mount. For extra support, apply double-sided adhesive to the back of the extension cord and press it firmly on the wall.

4. Hammer nails into the ceiling every 3 inches. Refer to the enclosed instructions to make sure the nails are strong enough to support the weight of the lanterns.

5. Gently unfold the lanterns and place the cord around the nail heads every 3 to 4 inches for adequate support and stability. Using wire, attach the lantern cord to the nail heads. This will provide reinforcement to the paper lanterns, and in case of high winds, they will remain intact.

6. Plug the lights into the extension cord and turn them on.
