Get An Upgrade In Las Vegas Hotels

Vegas is full of hotels where you too can get an upgrade, with little to no effort on your part.

Imagine it. You've just landed at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Immediately you're overcome by all the bells and lights of the slot machines that greet you almost from the moment you get off your plane. Suddenly you know that the sky is the limit and you're about to embark on a trip out of the ordinary. Riches and excesses not only surround you, but beckon you to join in the affluence. One of the best things about a Vegas vacation is that you can be pampered and treated like a king or queen just by being aware of a few insider tips.

Instructions

1. Just ask. Vegas is a very service-oriented town. Sometimes all you have to do is ask the clerk if any upgrades are available. Be polite and be personable. It also helps if you're dressed like you deserve the upgrade. The hotel staff knows the better it treats you, the more likely you are to stay and play. The more money you look like you can afford to drop, the better.

2. Tip for it. Many travelers cite a fairly significant success rate for the Vegas Twenty trick, also known as the $20 Sandwich Trick. Slip a folded $20 bill in between your license and your credit card and ask the clerk if there are any "complimentary" upgrades available. Research insider websites on the Internet, like that in the resource section, for the hotels where this approach is most successful.

3. Pay for it. Sometimes asking for an upgrade upon check-in means you can pay an additional $50 or so to upgrade to the next level of room available. This can shave some money off the listed price and gives you a bit more negotiating power.

4. Play for it. Always sign up for the player's club at any casino you frequent. Casinos make their money through the people who come to play, and have no problem whatsoever offering perks to those whose play they can track. Not only will you get offers for upgrades, you can often get offers to stay for free. This little tip can save you money in anything from accommodations to dining and even game play.

5. Have a good reason for an upgrade. If you are going to Vegas for any special occasion, from a birthday to a wedding anniversary - or even a wedding itself - tell the clerk about it. See what perks you can receive for choosing to spend your special day in their hotel.
