Install A Bed Frame

A bed frame supports a box spring and mattress. It elevates the box spring so that it doesn't lie directly on the floor. Bed frames can be equipped with casters, or small wheels, allowing you to roll the bed to different locations as needed. Assembly varies depending on the type of bed frame. A standard metal frame for a full-sized bed consists of two jointed brackets that you will need to connect. You can assemble and install a bed frame without using any tools. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Lay the two jointed frame brackets on the floor. Set them lengthwise and parallel to each other, casters down, about 6 feet apart. Orient the brackets so that the two ends with the headboard attachment are directly across from each other.

2. Pull the adjoining crossbars away from each bracket to a 90-degree angle. When you have pulled all the adjoining crossbars out, they will form a rectangle with the main frame brackets.

3. Join the two crossbars farthest from the headboard attachment. Insert the metal tab on the side of one of the crossbars through the slot on the other. Pull the crossbars to secure them in place.

4. Join the two crossbars closest to the headboard attachment following the same process.

5. Place the connected frame in the location where you want to place the bed. Orient the connected frame so that the end with the headboard attachments aligns with the headboards you intend to use, if any. This completes the process.
