Donate A Car To Houston On Pbs

Houston PBS will arrange for a tow truck to pick up your donated vehicle.

Houston Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is a non-profit organization that serves the greater Houston area with free educational shows and cultural programs. They are funded in large part by charitable donations from local viewers. Viewers who choose not to give cash have the option of donating a vehicle. PBS sells donated vehicles at auction to receive much-needed funds.

Instructions

1. Determine whether you qualify for the car donation program by asking the following:

Do you own the car free and clear?

Do you have the vehicle title?

Do you have the keys to the car?

Does the vehicle start?

Can the car be driven?

Eligible donors should be able to answer yes to every question.

2. Locate the vehicle title. Make a copy for your records.

3. Visit Houston PBS online and fill out the Vehicle Donation Form. A Cars for Charity representative will contact you to arrange for pick up. Have your title on hand when she calls.

4. Meet the towing agent at the pre-arranged time and location. Sign the necessary forms and turn over the car keys and title with your vehicle. The agent will provide you with a receipt before towing away your vehicle.

5. Watch for your gross sale letter to arrive from PBS by mail. It should arrive within 30 days. You will need this in order to claim a deduction on your taxes.
