Assembly Instructions For A Delta 48444 Crib

Modern cribs like the Delta 4844-4 require tools and instructions for proper assembly.

Putting together a crib for a new baby is one of the things that makes the baby's arrival both imminent and real. Putting a crib together, however, can be a frustrating experience full of small parts. However, if you break it down into simple steps and take your time, the crib can be up in a short amount of time. The Delta 4844-4, or Sienna, crib is a drop side crib with wheels. Assembly instructions will make putting it together a easy and memorable part of the getting ready for baby process.

Instructions

1. Hold the left headboard piece upright and place the left front leg on the front side of the headboard, lining up the screw holes. Attach the front left leg to the headboard using two medium screws and the Allen key. Screw one screw through the screw hole on the top and screw one screw through the hole on the bottom. Repeat the process with the right headboard piece and the right front leg.

2. Hold the back rail piece and push two large wood dowels into the two holes on each side of the top and one large wood dowel into the single hole on each side of the bottom. You should use a total of six large wood dowels in this step.

3. Push two wood dowels into the outer holes on the right and left end of the top bar for the back rail. There are three holes on each side, but the center one will be used for a screw.

4. Place the top bar on top of the back rail piece. Place the rear legs next to the sides of the back rail piece. Each rear leg should slide onto the dowels that were pushed in the top bar and the back rail piece earlier.

5. Attach the rear legs to the back rail piece using four medium screws and the Allen key. Two screws should be used on each leg, one on the top and one on the bottom, in the pre-drilled holes.

6. Stand the front rail piece up and push two wooden dowels in the top and bottom of each end. There are three holes drilled into each end and the dowels should be placed in the two outside holes. Place the right and left headboard pieces on the right and left sides of the front rail piece, pushing the headboard pieces onto the dowels, with the holes lining up.

7. Screw the headboard pieces to the front rail piece using four medium screws and the Allen key. There are pre-drilled screw holes on the top and bottom of each headboard piece.

8. Place a left and right steel peg leg on the end of one stabilizer bar. The leg ends will fit snugly on the stabilizer bar. Make sure the tabs on the steel peg legs are facing upwards. Slide the stabilizer bar into place in front of the bottom piece of the front rail. There are pre-attached metal pieces on the headboard pieces that will attach to the steel peg legs. Push the stabilizer bar in until you hear a click.

9. Place the remaining left and right steel peg legs on the end of the other stabilizer bar. The tabs on the steel peg legs should be facing up. Place the stabilizer bar near the open side of the crib, across from the other stabilizer bar. The headboard pieces have pre-attached metal pieces that will fit the stabilizer bar. Gently push the stabilizer bar towards these pieces until you hear a click, which will indicate the steel peg legs are securely in place.

10. Place the mattress board on top of the stabilizer bars. The warning bars on the mattress should face up. Once the mattress board is on the stabilizer bars, flip the tabs on the steep peg legs out, so they hold the mattress board in place.

11. Place dowels into the holes on the headboard pieces on the open side of the crib. There are two holes on the top and bottom of each piece and the dowel will go in the top hole in each location.

12. Attach the back rail piece to the headboard pieces by pushing the back rail gently onto the dowels. Using the Allen key and the four long screws, secure the two pieces together, placing the screws through the holes on the back rail piece, two on the top and two on the bottom.

13. Place the casters on the floor and lift up the crib, corner by corner. The casters will slide into holes on the bottom of each leg of the crib. You will know the caster is securely in place when you hear a click.
