Colors of the Southwest
If you love the Southwestern style of decor, you may want to incorporate some of these shades into your home decor. These hues can be used in the furniture you select for your space, as well as for wall color and artwork. Does this Spark an idea?
Tan
Tan is a neutral color that matches with just about any furniture piece and represents the sandy earth that is commonly seen in the Southwest. Since tan "agrees"' with most other colors, you can paint all four walls of a room with it or select large furniture pieces in tan, like sofas or dining room tables, without it overwhelming the space.
Sage
Sage is a somewhat muted green color and is reminiscent of the cacti that are prevalent in the Southwest. This shade is best for a smaller piece of furniture like a chair or ottoman or can be used to paint the accent wall in any room where you've placed coordinating furniture.
Orange
Several varieties of orange can be used in Southwestern decor, since this shade represents the sunny weather that the Southwest is known for. Bright oranges can be used for accent decor like throw pillows or candles; subdued oranges that are closer to a rust color are ideal for area rugs or for painting one wall.
