Easily Remove
a Recliners Back
This will help you remove the back off of 90% of the recliners on the market. It makes moving them a lot easier! Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. The first step to taking the back off of your recliner is to make sure you do not have a La-Z-Boy brand recliner. You can do this by looking and if you have a wooden handle that means you have a La-Z-Boy you need to follow "take the back off of your La-Z-Boy Recliner."
2. Find the back of your recliner. Most recliners have a Velcro down flap in the back. Then look at the sides of the back of the recliner as shown in the picture.
3. Most recliners have the back attached one of two ways. 75% use a little tab like in the picture and the other 25% use a simple hand screw. If yours has a hand screw... just unscrew it (lefty loosie) on both sides and then lift the back off. Otherwise if it is the tab version go onto step 4
4. Take a screw driver and pry the tabs away from the chair backs as pictured next to this step. Pry both sides away and then lift the back off.
