The Bilmar Beach Resort is located on Treasure Island on Florida's Gulf Coast. The resort rents five types of rooms and suites. As of September, 2010, rooms cost $109 to $149 per night while suites cost $268 per night.
Geography
Treasure Island is located in the Tampa Bay area. It was originally established by a group of Native Americans called the Timucan around 300 A.D. but it was not until around 1900 A.D. that the area started attracting tourists. The resort itself is located just steps from St. Petersburg Beach. A trolley provides transportation up and down the beachfront on Gulf Boulevard.
Resort Amenities
The resort has many amenities, including a sun deck as well as a whirpool, two heated pools, a gym and a spa. Several American cuisine restaurants are located onsite and there's a business center complete with meeting rooms.
Fun Fact
The resort not only rents rooms; it also sells condos to people looking for a vacation home on Treasure Island. When the residents are not actively living in the condos, they can be rented out to vacationers.
