Clean Cream Microsuede Furniture

Keep microsuede furniture clean with regular care.

Microsuede furniture is becoming a more common alternative to natural upholstery like suede and leather. Unlike true suede furniture, microsuede is low maintenance and made from synthetic materials like polyester. Take extra care with cream colored microsuede furniture and clean up any spills immediately after they occur. With a regular cleaning and maintenance routine, your cream colored microsuede furniture will look like new for years to come. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use a vacuum hose with a brush attachment, or a lint roller, to clean up loose dirt, crumbs, pet hair or other debris.

2. Read the tags on your furniture for specific care instructions. Some microsuede should only be cleaned with water, but some can be cleaned with solvents.

3. Clean up any spills immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel. Dab the spilled liquid with a cloth to soak it up.

4. Fill a spray bottle with water. If you can use solvents on your furniture, add about three drops of a mild dish detergent. Shake the bottle gently to incorporate the detergent.

5. Mist the furniture lightly with cleaning solvent. If a piece furniture is particularly large, work in sections so that the solvent does not soak into the couch.

6. Wipe the furniture down with a clean cloth. If there are any stains or spills, spritz them directly with the solvent and scrub lightly with a clean cloth.

7. Place a fan near the furniture to help it dry faster. If any water spots appear on the furniture, wipe them with an alcohol-based baby wipe. You can also use a clean cloth with a small amount of rubbing alcohol poured on it.
