Build The Ultimate Fire Pit

Building the ultimate fire pit is a project that almost anyone can do.

Building the ultimate fire pit isn't as difficult as it sounds. The ultimate fire pit can be built using a variety of materials that will produce a large pit with walls to keep the flames from jumping outside. Materials such as bricks, landscaping rocks, or--in this case--a large truck rim can all be used for fire pits. Make sure, however, to build your pit away from the house or any flammable materials. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Pick a spot for your ultimate fire pit away from the house and any sheds, fences, trees or other flammable material.

2. Dig out the fire pit. It needs to be approximately 2 inches larger than the radius of the tire rim and deep enough for the entire rim to fit, all the way up to its brim.

3. Place the tire rim into the hole and pack the soil tightly around it. It is now starting to look like an ultimate fire pit: wide, deep and safe because of the metal.

4. Place large landscaping rocks around the fire pit for decoration.

5. Wet the inside of the pit with water. Once the soil is saturated, press down with your hands to pack the soil, leveling it. Wait until the soil is dry before you use your fire pit. Now you can enjoy your new ultimate fire pit throughout the year.
