Change the XBox Live Avatar Online
The Xbox Live avatar is a customizable representation of each player on the Microsoft Xbox 360 console. It is displayed when using some Xbox Live online features, such as the friends list. A few games, such as "Guitar Hero 5," "Age of Booty," and "Uno" allow players to use the Xbox Live avatar as his or her character in the game. It is possible to change the avatar's features and clothing at any time through the Avatar Editor menu.
Instructions
1. Turn on the Xbox 360 console. The Xbox Dashboard menu will be displayed after the console boots up. You can also return to the Dashboard while playing a game. Xbox Live arcade games will have a "Return to the Dashboard" option in the game main menu. Press the "Xbox" button on the controller to open the Xbox Guide menu for games without that option. Press the "Y" button when the Guide menu is open to return to the Dashboard.
2. Highlight the "My Xbox" category in the Dashboard menu to open the My Xbox sub-menu.
3. Select your profile from the My Xbox category menu to open the profile options menu. This is the second choice in the menu. Your current avatar will appear on the screen when the correct menu option is highlighted. Press the "A" button on the controller to select items in the Dashboard menu.
4. Select "Customize Avatar" from the profile menu to change the avatar's features and clothing. The Avatar Editor menu will appear.
5. Select "Change My Features" from the Avatar Editor. This will allow you to alter the physical features of your Xbox Live avatar, such as the hair, eyes, or physical attribute options.
6. Change the physical attributes for your avatar as desired. Selecting a physical attribute from the menu will display all of the available options. Select the one you wish to use for your avatar.
7. Press the "B" button on the controller to return to the Avatar Editor menu.
8. Select "Change My Clothes" to change the clothing for your avatar.
9. Change the clothes for your avatar as desired. Select a category of clothing from the menu to see all of the available options. Select the one you want your avatar to change into.
10. Press the "B" button to return to the Avatar Editor menu.
11. Select "Save & Exit" to save the changes to your Xbox Live avatar. Your new avatar will be used when other players view your avatar online through Xbox Live.
