Clean Brazilian Cherry Floors

Properly clean Brazilian cherry wood floors.

The satiny, smooth texture and rich color of Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring adds warmth to any style of home. Brazilian cherry wood is about twice as durable as red oak wood, according to Service Magic, and twice as resistant to dents, scratches and scrapes. This exotic hardwood possesses very unique characteristics, such as deep orange to reddish brown colors with dark grains. While many hardwoods become dingy over the years, the appearance of Brazilian cherry wood enhances. Since dirt and grit can damage this wood, proper cleaning is necessary to maintain luster and shine. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Mop the floor with a dust mop to remove any accumulated dirt and grime. Since dirt and grime act as sandpaper, they eventually scratch the wood.

2. Fill a mop bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Add 1 cup of liquid glass cleaner to the water.

3. Submerge a cotton hand towel in the solution. Twist and squeeze the towel to extract the liquid. Make sure no water drips from the towel.

4. Lay the damp towel on the floor. Place the head of a push broom on the towel.

5. Fold the front portion of the towel over the push broom's head. Push the broom and towel slowly over the floor.

6. Rinse the towel with water, occasionally, as the towel becomes dirty. Refold the towel over the broom's head and continue damp-mopping the wood floor until the entire floor is clean.

7. Wipe the floor completely dry, using a clean, cotton hand towel. Remove all moisture from the wood floor.
