Instructions
1. Gather the four top and bottom crosses. Note that one has a warning label listed on it. Set this piece aside for later use. With the remaining pieces, insert four 10mm by 40mm wooden dowels into the ends of top and bottom cross. Using one 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket bolt, attach the right headboard post to the top cross. Tighten, using the enclosed Allen key. Be sure not to fully tighten the bolt to provide a smoother assembly throughout. The right headboard post should be laid on its flat side on the ground with the curved end pointing upward and set up on the left side of your workspace.
2. Check that the right headboard post and top cross are now in a perpendicular arrangement. Insert the one wide headboard slat in the center slot of the top cross with three narrow headboard slots inserted on either side of the wide headboard slat. With six narrow headboard slats in all, the sequence should be right headboard, three narrow headboard slats, one wide headboard slat, then three narrow headboard slats all connected to the top cross at the top. All slats should now be inserted in the holes and pushed up to secure in place.
3. Locate the top and bottom cross with the warning label on it. Insert four 10mm by 40mm wooden dowels in the ends of the bottom cross. Put eight stoppers inside the holes of the bottom cross. Then, put the bottom cross into the right headboard post. Connect the other ends of the narrow headboard slats and wide headboard slat from the previous step into the bottom cross. Ensure the bottom cross is secure with the right headboard post with one 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolt. Use the Allen wrench to tighten. Again, do not fully tighten the bolt to provide greater ease for the remaining assembly.
4. Pick up one of the two cylinders. Insert two 3mm by 32mm metal dowels into the ends of the cylinder. Secure the cylinder to the right headboard post using one 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolt. Use the Allen key to tighten the bolt tight but not so much to ensure remaining ease of assembly.
5. Gather a total of three 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolts. Bring the left headboard post together with the top and bottom cross and cylinder. Insert one hex socket bolt at the top of the left headboard post, one in the middle of the three holes at the left headboard post and one in the middle hole of the bottom left headboard post. Use the Allen key to tighten the bolts just enough to hold for ease of assembly. The headboard is now assembled.
6. Insert four 10mm by 40mm wooden dowels into the ends of the top cross. Attach the left footboard post to the top cross, using one 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolts. Use the Allen key to tighten it just enough to facilitate assembly.
7. Place the wide footboard slat and six narrow footboard slats into the holes of the top cross. Secure the footboard slats by pushing them up into place.
8. Put four 10mm by 40mm wooden dowels into the ends of the bottom cross. Insert eight wooden stoppers into the holes of the bottom cross. Put the bottom cross into the left footboard post. Insert three narrow footboard slats into the appropriate slots of the bottom cross, then the wide footboard slat into the appropriate bottom cross slot, followed by three more narrow footboard slats. Secure the bottom cross to the left footboard post with one 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolt and tighten with the Allen key just enough that it is secure.
9. Insert two 3mm by 32mm metal dowels into the ends of the remaining cylinder. Lightly secure the cylinder with the left footboard post using the Allen key and one 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolt.
10. Attach the right headboard post to the top and bottom cross and cylinder, using three 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolts. One bolt should go to the top of the right headboard post, one in the middle of the next set of three holes, and one in the middle of the set of three holes at the bottom of the right headboard post. Tighten with Allen key. The footboard is now finished.
11. Insert six 8mm by 30mm wooden dowels into the ends of the four wide support slats and two narrow support slats. The support slats should be arranged in a row accordingly: two narrow support slats in the center and two wide support slats on either side of the narrow support slats. Insert one 1/4 by 1/2-inch barrel nut into the hole of the wide surface of the center support slat. Make sure the barrel nut is flush with the center support slat. Insert one 1/4 by 2-1/2-inch hex socket head bolt through the right side rail and into the barrel nut. The center support slat and right side rail should now be attached. Tighten using the Allen Key. Insert the wide support slats and narrow support slats into the grooves of the right side rail. Ensure the dowels in the slats go into the holes of the side rail.
12. Insert one 1/4 by 1/2-inch barrel nut into the hole one the wide surface of the center support slat. Make sure the barrel nut is flush with the center support slat. By inserting one 1/4 by 2-1/2-inch hex socket head bolt, through the left side rail and through the barrel nut, attach the left side rail to the wide support slat. These same pieces were previously installed in the wide support slat. Use the Allen key to fully tighten the bolt.
13. Using eight 1/4 by 1/2-inch barrel nuts, insert one into both ends of the left and right side rails. Attach the headboard and footboard to the left and right side rail by threading eight hex socket head bolts through the headboard post, the footboard post, and into the barrel nuts and in the left and right side rails. Use the Allen key to install the bolts. Do not fully tighten.
14. Attach the two guardrails to the headboard posts with hex socket bolts. Attach the guardrails to the left and right side rails, using six 1/4 by 1-3/4-inch hex socket head bolts. Use the Allen key to tighten the bolts. It is now time to fully tighten all of the other bolts in the previous steps.
