The Dallas Zoo hosts an annual non-scary Halloween event for children for a zoo admission fee. Some events include monster dancing, animal shows and witch-ercize exercises. The carousel runs backwards, and there is a Giants of the Savanna display. The events continue until midnight on Halloween night.
Ghost Tales at the Lake
The Dallas Storytelling Guild members spin spooky tales to commemorate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos at the Dallas Bath House Cultural Center. Families are encouraged to attend, as stories are suited for a wide range of ages.
Great Pumpkin Festival
The Dallas Arboretum hosts the Annual Great Pumpkin Festival for family Halloween fun. The Festival hosts over 20,000 decorated pumpkins and gourds, a hay-bale maze and a pumpkin house. Other attractions include a petting zoo, face painting and kids' costume contests. Pumpkins may be purchased for home use in Tom Thumb's Pumpkin Patch.
Demons and Divas Party
Exclusively for adults, Hotel ZaZa in downtown Dallas hosts an annual Demons and Divas Halloween party. The party includes a DJ and a cash bar. Costumes are encouraged for the costume contests. The party continues from 9 p.m. till 2 a.m.
Wickedly Wonderful Halloween at the Belmont Hotel
The Belmont Hotel bar on Fort Worth Avenue hosts an annual adult-only Halloween costume party. The costumes are judged, and the bar provides a DJ with a cash bar for the party. The party is restricted to the bar area of the hotel. There is no cover charge. The party lasts from 7 p.m till 1 a.m.
