Decorate A Room With Dark Furniture For A Little Girl'S Room

A pink flower, real or artificial, will be a beautiful addition to a room featuring dark furniture.

If your little girl's bedroom features ebony, cherry or other dark furniture, soften its look with some feminine decorative touches on the walls and a few carefully placed accents. Bring out the rich tone of her bold, dark furniture with contrasting colors, and give it a lacy edge with some girly details she will love. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Paint her room an off-white shade, such as eggshell or antique white, in a satin finish. This neutral color will work well with dark furniture and the lighter hue of the bedding and accents. The finish will keep the shine down while still maintaining cleaning ease.

2. Outfit her bed with light pink bedding, including sheets, pillowcases and a comforter. The light shade of the bedding will offset the dark color of the furniture nicely, giving an attractive visual appeal while creating some softness amongst the classy furniture. Add several throw pillows and her favorite stuffed animals to the bed.

3. Place a soft or plush pink chair in one corner of the room. Not only will it look elegant next to her dark furniture but it will give her an extra place to relax and read a book. Pair it with a small table, a lacy doily and a lamp for the ultimate girly spot. A few real or artificial flowers placed in a vase will look pretty there as well.

4. Pink curtains on each window will help with the overall feminine feel of the room. Opt for a color that is a shade or two darker than her bedding.

5. Add wall decals to pull the design of the room together. Look for silhouettes of trees and birds, lettering and phrases or a basic, yet pretty border. Dark, bold outlines will reflect your choice of furniture while light colors may blend in a little too well.
