Decorate With Cups & Saucers

Teacups and saucers are reminiscent of a time gone by. Decorating with teacups and saucers is a perfect match for antique and Victorian décor. Find inexpensive and mismatched teacups and saucers at yard sales and flea markets to decorate your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Find large teacups and saucers to put some houseplants in. Use the cup part as the pot and the saucer as the base that holds excess water. Use regular-size cups and saucers for small plants to set on windowsills and other small spaces in your home such as bathroom sinks or nightstands.

2. Collect a variety of teacups and saucers. Purchase display shelves and hang them on the wall. Stand the saucer in the groove in the shelf. Place the teacup in front of the saucer.

3. Use teacups and saucers as candy dishes. Fill the teacup with small, individually wrapped candies. Place these on end tables, coffee tables and dressers around your home.

4. Make candles out of the teacups. Melt low-temperature wax and pour into the teacup. Insert a wick. Allow the wax to set completely. Set the candle on the saucer before lighting to prevent wax from getting on your tabletop. Use teacups as votive holders if you do not want to pour wax into your teacups.

5. Fill a teacup with water to use as a vase. Add tiny flowers. Place the teacup on the saucer to protect your table surface from water damage.

6. Place a teacup that no longer has its saucer on your dresser or bathroom sink. Use the teacup to hold your rings and other jewelry.

7. Decorate outside of your home by making bird feeders out of less precious teacups and saucers. Use an epoxy glue to join the teacup to the saucer. Allow the glue to dry completely. Drill holes on either side of the teacup. Thread wire through each hole and tie off. Fill with birdseed and hang in the tree. Use the saucer to hold water for the birds.
