"Metal Gear Solid" is a stealth-based action game in which you play as the secret agent Solid Snake. Toward the end, you'll encounter a cyborg ninja. While your guns are your main weapon for most of the game, you cannot use them against the cyborg ninja. To win, you have to beat him with your bare fists and feet. He has five distinct phases, and the strategy for hurting him differs in each one. If you're having trouble, you can also use chaff grenades to daze him.
Instructions
1. Sheath your weapon if one is drawn. If you attack the cyborg ninja with a gun, he'll deflect the bullets with his sword.
2. Run up to the cyborg ninja and hit him. After scoring a hit, immediately jump away or else he'll slice you with his sword. Once you've hit him twice, he'll drop his sword and transition to the second phase.
3. Perform two more hit and runs. After successfully striking him twice more, he'll use his displacer cloak to disappear, beginning the third phase.
4. Equip your thermal goggles to see where he went. Immediately run to his hiding place and hit him. If you're too slow, he'll hit you. After two successful strikes, he'll disable his cloak and begin the fourth phase.
5. Wait in place for the ninja to run at you. As soon as he's next to you, he'll teleport to your side and attack. The moment he disappears, step forward to evade his punch. Turn around and hit him. After hitting him twice, he'll begin to glow, beginning the fifth and final phase.
6. Pull out a gun and shoot the ninja twice to end the battle.
